Court in Egypt has sentenced 529 supporters of ousted President Mohammed Mursi to death.
They were charged variously, including the murder of a police officer and assault on police.
This group of defendants, most of them members of the banned Islamist movement "Brothers mumulmane", is part of a wider group of defendants, including more than 1,200 supporters Mursi.
Egyptian authorities have launched a campaign of repression against the Islamists since the overthrow of President Mursi in July last year.
Thousands of supporters of the "Muslim Brotherhood" were arrested, hundreds of them were killed.
Cairo district court Minya south of the capital took its decision after just two sessions, during which defense attorneys complained that they were not given the opportunity to speak in court outlining the defense argument.
Attacks on police that incriminated the accused, according to authorities, occurred in August in southern Egypt after security forces eliminated two camps Mursi supporters demanding his restoration as president. In the ensuing riots after hundreds of people died.
