34 children died in refugee camps in northern India


At least 34 children have died in refugee camps-appointed for a few thousand people who were forced to leave their homes due to clashes between Hindus and Muslims in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in September.

According to local authorities in five camps in Muzaffar nagar district still live 4783 person.

The report of the government commission notes that all the dead were children less than 12 years. Indian media reported that the cause of their death was severe cold and dysentery.

During September of ethnic clashes in Uttar Pradesh killed 65 people, another 85 were injured. About 50,000 local residents - especially Muslims - were left without a roof over their head.
