In South Korea, ducks slaughtered due to bird flu


South Korea began culling 20,000 ducks because of suspicions that the country began a new outbreak of bird flu.

Extermination of birds began the next day after on a farm in North Jeolla Province developed symptoms of avian influenza virus H5N1.

Accurate test results yet, but officials said that most likely, information about bird flu confirmed. Surrounding farms quarantined and also conducted medical research.

After the previous outbreak of bird flu in May 2011 more than three million birds were destroyed throughout South Korea.
