Tens of thousands of people took part in protests in the capital of Malaysia against the results of the last parliamentary elections on Sunday, which won the National Front coalition in power for more than 50 years.
Huge crowds gathered at a stadium in Kuala Lumpur, requiring recalculation of voting. Speaking to supporters of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim did not admit his defeat and called the election unfair.
The U.S. authorities have also expressed doubts about the vote counting in Malaysia. Local police have not yet reported on arrests during opposition protests. Earlier, the Malaysian Electoral Commission reported a record turnout at the elections - about 80%.
