Saturday morning, a surfer was killed by a shark on the west coast of Australia, reports the ABC television network . A young man of twenty years has been cut in half and eaten, probably by a white shark as he surfed with a friend near Wedge Island north of Perth.
A man with jet ski tried to help the surfer, but without success. He says he was himself attacked by the animal. "There was blood everywhere and a huge white shark that circled the body," he said on ABC. He said the attack left the victim only "half of the torso."
Five people have died this way in this region in less than a year. This Saturday, all beaches were closed.
